Martín Fierro de los Portales Web: Live Coverage of the Great Online Journalism Celebration

From the Martín Fierro screen of the web portals, Jorge Lanata was remembered in an  emotional tribute  with words that marked his career, such as the one that repeated in one of the latest emissions of Journalism for All (El Trece): “Live everything they can”, an invitation to take advantage of life without reservations.

In the tribute, his farewell from television was evoked, when he stated, “Today I am not going to turn off a light, but I will light a candle,” leaving a  hopeful message . The tribute concluded with the reading of an Irish prayer that the journalist frequently quoted: “That the path comes to meet him, that the wind always  blows behind your back , that the sun always  gives you on the face , that the rain slowly falls in your field, and until we see each other again, that God has you in the palm of His hand. Thank you.”

After the video ended, the auditorium filled with  applause and emotion , a unanimous recognition of Lanata’s figure, who left a deep mark on  Argentine journalism . Colleagues and representatives of the digital world commemorated his legacy as one of the great referents of communication, at a ceremony that marked his absence but also celebrated his influence on several generations of journalists.

In the Interview or Report category, Tatiana Schapiro was the chosen one of the night. Excited, she expressed before the microphone: “Thank you very much APTRA. It makes me very happy to be here. That they reward you for asking and  listening  at a time when  confirmation bias  seems so prominent is particularly meaningful for me. I truly value the stories we tell, regardless of who they are.”

“Thank you, Daniel Hadad, always. Cami, working with you is… you have more confidence in me than I do in myself. The entire Valeria Cavallo team is wonderful. I have the best companions in the world and learn every day from that table. I work with many talents, including Nico. Today with Milton, Alejo Garcia Sosa, and his team. Nico Spalek told me that if he won a percentage, it was his and is reason for every moment of  hard work . Huge thanks for giving me the opportunity to  do journalism  every day,” she concluded.

The awards ceremony Martín Fierro to the web portals has officially started in North Park Goldencer. After 19:30, the first guests of this grand celebration began to arrive, a night that no one wanted to miss. There were heartfelt embraces exchanged among colleagues who hadn’t seen each other in a long time, with various displays of camaraderie.
