The Controversial Meeting In Medellín: Blessd Under Scrutiny for Alleged Kidnapping
Overview of the Case
On June 1, 2022, a meeting in Medellín’s El Poblado neighborhood set off a judicial process involving urban singer Blessd, also known as Stiven Londoño, and several members of his team. This meeting was called by Santiago Jaramillo, professionally known as “Dímelo Jara,” Blessd’s manager, and included Andrés Felipe Sánchez, an artist going by “Yo me nombre Ozuna.” Initially cordial, the atmosphere shifted dramatically, leading to serious allegations of extortionate kidnapping.
Escalation of Tensions
According to the account given to the Attorney General’s Office, the meeting took a dark turn when Sánchez was pressured to sign a contract prohibiting him from imitating Blessd’s performances. The demands escalated to the point where Sánchez felt threatened, being told that refusing to sign could lead to violent repercussions. He documented the situation on his phone, but was met with aggression from Jaramillo, who reportedly demanded the device and physically assaulted him.
“They told me that I had to sign a contract… or they were going to package me up,” Sánchez stated, describing his fear during the encounter.
Threats and Intimidation
As tensions soared, Daniel Velásquez, another member of Blessd’s team, allegedly displayed a firearm to intimidate Sánchez. The threat was direct: Sánchez was told he could be harmed if he didn’t comply with their demands. Velásquez’s comment, “did you know that I could kill you with that private property?” highlighted the grim nature of the encounter.
Blessd’s Involvement
At one point, Sánchez spoke on the phone with Blessd, who allegedly warned him that he was aware of his identity and address, implying that there would be consequences for non-compliance. Sánchez was reportedly told, “I know what you do… if he were there he would destroy my face,” indicating that the threats were very real.
Confinement and Escape
Despite attempts to calm him down, Sánchez claims he was held against his will, forced to relinquish his phone when he sought to contact a friend in law enforcement. After the meeting concluded, he managed to escape to a nearby parking lot where he awaited help from police.
Following the ordeal, Sánchez received a contract that included clauses preventing him from disclosing his experiences or taking legal action against those involved.
Legal Consequences
Given the gravity of the situation, the Prosecutor’s Office has summoned Blessd and the other participants for a hearing. Authorities are contemplating charges of aggravated kidnapping for extortion, underscoring the serious nature of these allegations.
This meeting in Medellín serves as a stark reminder of the potential for violence and conflict within the music industry, highlighting the darker side of fame and competition.
