There were again dramatic pictures of Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold during Saturday’s sprint. The 28-year-old was prepared by the medical device, but at the same time was unsure how her body would react to her experiencing challenges with her heart earlier in the week. After five hits on the first lie, she was caught by a TV 2 camera where she stood on the side of the track and tried to get control of her breathing. She stood completely still for 30 seconds before continuing. – It hurts to see these images, said news’s biathlon expert Ola Lunde after seeing the TV images. And adds: – But I expect that the medical apparatus has control over this. After the first shooting, Tandrevold was 15 seconds behind the very best, but soon after that she stopped. Can you tell us a little bit about what happened today? – The same thing happened as happened last time. I get some heart rhythm disturbances when I shoot prone. I get a very high heart rate that I have to take some time to calm down after shooting, says Tandrevold to news’s reporter in Finland. – What do you think when you stop, are you considering breaking? – Today I was perhaps as close as I have ever been before to breaking a ski race, I admit that. I was quite nervous today, I was a bit worried that it wouldn’t happen again, even though I know it’s nothing dangerous, I know it’s something that ruins my competition and I don’t want to put anyone off others for that, she says and thinks of the viewers back home. She says that the body has worked well in training, also in connection with shooting. She was still nervous about how things would turn out during a hectic sprint. – I saw that you talked a lot with Patrick (Oberegger, the national team manager) before the start today, was it the lying shooting that was talked about? – Yes, this is only what I feel, but here it is a very tough entrance. Here it is with a steady pulse after we have walked hard on the ground, and then the pulse drops when you have to shoot lying down. When, in addition, you hold your breath like we do when we shoot, that’s another trigger for me. That is my experience. Then we have tried to work on the last few days that I have to try to keep my breath shorter, she says. Czech winner In the finish line was the Czech Marketa Davidova who put the competitors under pressure after two flawless shots. She led by half a minute on Austrian Lisa Therese Hauser. None of the competitors could answer. Swedish Elvira Öberg came closest, coming in 8.8 seconds behind. The Finns could cheer for Suvi Minkkinen’s third place. Karoline Knotten also delivered flawless shooting. The 29-year-old entered 5th place. – Very solid race. There is something missing in the track, is Lunde’s verdict. At the finish, Landmark Tandrevold was number 22, which means that she managed quite well on the slopes despite all the excesses. Many reactions However, not everyone was able to take it easy: Today’s winner, Davidova from the Czech Republic, was also clearly shaken after she reached the finish line: – What is happening to Ingrid is “crazy”, she stated. – It was horrible to watch.
