8 February 2023 at 15:19 Important traffic lane in Tromsø closed The Sandnessund bridge, which is the only near-urban traffic lane from Tromsøya to Kvaløya, is closed as a result of strong winds. This is shown in a traffic report from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. There is a big queue at the site. The area of Kvaløysletta is among the most densely populated places in Tromsø, and the Norwegian Road Administration continuously assesses the opening of the bridge depending on the wind conditions. There are approximately 9,000 people living on Kvaløysletta, and 13,000 people on the island in total.
