Impact of ‘In Good Company’ Volunteer Program
The Mahou San Miguel Foundation’s ‘In Good Company’ volunteer program has made significant strides in 2025, benefitting approximately 6,000 individuals this year. This marks a remarkable 25% increase from the previous year, as announced on International Volunteer Day, celebrated on December 5.
Expanding Reach Across Spain
In 2025, the program expanded its operational footprint, reinforcing its presence in 11 provinces across Spain. Collaborating with 49 leading social organizations, the Foundation has promoted 150 solidarity projects, a substantial rise from the 40 entities involved in 2024. This growth was made possible by the dedicated involvement of nearly 1,000 volunteers, representing a 22% increase compared to last year.
Volunteer Contributions and Community Connections
Mahou San Miguel Foundation volunteers dedicated around 3,000 hours of support and companionship, an impressive 36% increase from 2024. Collaborating entities, such as the Red Cross, Abracadabra Foundation, and Adopta un Abuelo Foundation, underscore the program’s commitment to addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, including the elderly and individuals with functional diversity.
Roberto Iglesias, a long-time volunteer from the Mahou San Miguel Production center in Burgos, shared his experiences: “It is very enriching and allows us to give back part of what we have to society. Even a small gesture can make a big difference.” His reflections emphasize how volunteering can transform perspectives on the realities faced by others.
Financial Support to Enhance Impact
In 2025, the Mahou San Miguel Foundation continued its support for selected projects, allocating up to €5,000 for each initiative. This financial aid plays a vital role in enhancing the sustainability and impact of ongoing actions.
Christmas Initiatives: Bringing Joy and Hope
As the Christmas season approaches, the Foundation’s volunteers are gearing up for an array of initiatives aimed at spreading joy and hope to those in need. Collaborating with various social organizations, they plan to engage in activities including tree decorations, gift distributions, and festive parties for marginalized communities.
Through creative projects, such as delivering Easter flowers to areas affected by natural disasters, the volunteers aim to foster a spirit of connection and support during a pivotal time of year.
Conclusion: A Shared Commitment to Social Transformation
Virginia Luca de Tena, director of the Mahou San Miguel Foundation, underscores the significance of community involvement: “Our volunteer program, ‘In Good Company,’ enables us to reinforce our commitment to transforming society from a grassroots level.” The program encourages active participation and empathy, contributing to a more supportive and united community.
In dedicating their time to accompany vulnerable populations, volunteers create lasting change, helping to build a more compassionate and cooperative society. Such initiatives not only impact the beneficiaries but also enrich the lives and perspectives of the volunteers themselves.
