Let’s explain to you how to file electronic complaints in the Civil Guard, detailing the types of complaints you can submit online and what you need in order to do so. With this guide, you can save yourself a trip to the barracks or office when reporting certain issues online.
We will outline the seven types of complaints you can make online, helping you avoid unnecessary travel and save time. Following that, we’ll provide information on the requirements and the steps to proceed.
What Complaints Can You Make Online?
It’s important to note that not all crimes can be reported remotely. For instance, you cannot report online any crimes involving violence or those where the stolen or lost value exceeds 10,000 euros. Here’s the list of complaints you can file electronically:
- Loss or Misplacement of Documentation: If you’ve lost documentation involuntarily and without bad faith or involvement from another party, you can report it online.
- Documentation Location: If you’ve found documents that were previously reported as lost or stolen, you can indicate their recovery by providing details from the original complaint.
- Fraudulent Charges on Your Card: Unauthorized charges on your debit/credit card or other electronic payment methods can be reported online.
- Theft from Inside a Vehicle: If items have been stolen from your vehicle without any violence or intimidation, you can report it online.
- Vehicle Theft: Reports can be made online for the theft of any motor vehicle or moped without needing to detail the method of theft.
- Thefts: If someone has taken items from another person without permission and without violence or intimidation, this can be reported online.
- Damage: Any act resulting in the destruction, disabling, or deterioration of someone else’s property can also be reported online.
How to Make the Complaint Online
To submit an electronic report, visit the Electronic Headquarters of the Civil Guard. Ensure you have a stable internet connection, with a bandwidth of at least 10 Mbps. On the website, click the Telematic Complaint option, which is accessible via both desktop and mobile devices.
You will be directed to a list of complaint types. Select the type of complaint you wish to file, which will take you to another page outlining specific requirements for that complaint type. Click on Access the Procedure.
Next, you will need to identify yourself using the Cl@ve system, which may involve your Permanent Cl@ve or a digital certificate, like the FNMT certificate.
After successful identification, simply fill out the complaint form, tailored to the specific type you’re reporting. Be precise in detailing the facts and include any necessary documents that support your case.
