MrBeast Plans to Enter Mobile Telecommunications
The American YouTuber known as MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is gearing up to launch his own Mobile Telephone Service. This ambitious plan was revealed through internal documents that have come to light, showcasing a potential impact on the telecommunications sector.
Potential Launch Timeline and Strategy
Although the project is not considered a priority or given a specific launch date, the documents shared with Business Insider suggest that the service may see its debut in 2026. This timeline aligns with MrBeast’s ongoing strategy to diversify his brand and venture beyond the content that has made him a star on YouTube.
Despite lacking a precise launch window, sources close to Donaldson have indicated that his team is actively exploring “new initiatives and partnerships” to expand operations. The foundation of this mobile service is poised to reshape the landscape of digital communications.

Partnerships with Established Operators
Donaldson, now 27 years old and the global leader in YouTube subscribers with over 400 million followers, has no intention of constructing telecommunications infrastructure from the ground up. Instead, he plans to collaborate with established operators like T-Mobile or Verizon. This partnership will facilitate the launch of a mobile phone service under the virtual mobile operator model, known as MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator).
The MVNO model allows celebrities and brands to resell mobile services while leveraging established networks without the burden of managing technical infrastructure directly. This innovative approach has already attracted well-known figures such as Ryan Reynolds, who created Mint Mobile and sold it to T-Mobile for an impressive $1.35 billion in 2023. The success of this model has piqued the interest of others in entertainment and politics, including Donald Trump.

The Role of Celebrity Influence
For a virtual mobile operator to succeed, it must negotiate agreements for voice and data services with companies like Verizon or T-Mobile. The competitive edge in this model lies in leveraging star power; turning loyal followers into paying customers becomes the primary goal. Influential personalities like MrBeast can create a significant impact in this sector, particularly given their vast audience.
According to Alex Bestan, CEO of The Besen Group, the success of celebrities entering the MVNO space relies on their ability to influence and delegate the technical aspects to experts. “The ultimate goal is to focus on marketing and sales, and outsource everything else,” he stated, emphasizing that having a well-structured strategy and seasoned professionals is crucial for negotiations with major service providers.
Diversification of Business Ventures
In addition to the mobile initiative, Donaldson’s enterprise has ventured into other business avenues, including a chocolate line named Feastables, food products under the Lunchly brand, and even toys. There are also plans for possible expansions into sectors like financial technology and mobile gaming.
The management at MRBEAST is currently focused on a course of financial prudence and streamlining media expenses, all in pursuit of sustainable profitability across its diverse range of operations. The recent success of MVNOs like Mint Mobile serves as a promising example of the financial potential in this space.
For MrBeast, the pivotal challenge lies in converting a portion of his staggering 400 million followers into dedicated customers. This endeavor demands an effective value proposition, bolstered by the extensive brand capital he has cultivated over recent years. As he embarks on this journey into the telecommunications realm, the industry watches with keen interest.
