A little after 8 o’clock, the emergency services responded to a report of a fire in an apartment. The emergency services received a report from a neighbor who saw flames from the apartment. The fire brigade moved out with several cars. When they arrived at the scene, there were flames and a lot of smoke. Photo: Roy Pettersen / news At 08.31 the police stated that the person had burns. – It is supposed to be an elderly man and the condition is described as critical, says task leader Karl Otto Henly Bratt of the Oslo police. He was taken to hospital. Extinguished by sprinkler system The fire brigade quickly got the fire under control. It was isolated in one apartment. At 08.57 the police reported that the fire had been extinguished. Hultin states that the smoke alarm system was triggered and that the fire was, so to speak, extinguished by the sprinkler system. The fire brigade worked on Monday morning to ventilate and remove water. – Now it is actually the farm owner here who wants to take over the responsibility for the last drying up of water and make the apartment habitable again, says Hultin. Unknown cause of fire The fire occurred in an apartment connected to the Diakonhjemmet. Several people were evacuated during the fire. Communications manager Pål A. Berg tells Avisa Oslo that they are working to inform employees and relatives. – The most important thing now is to take care of residents, employees and of course the person who is injured and their next of kin.
