– It’s really bad to get Guns N’ Roses to Trondheim. I think it’s the biggest booking we’ve had since Bruce Springsteen played here in 2016, says Stein Vanebo in Trondheim Stage to news. The hard rockers from Los Angeles are playing their only concert in Norway in “Paradise City”, also known as Trondheim, on 2 July 2025. – It is, in a way, the soundtrack for many of us, no matter how old we are. Photo: Fredrik Hagen / NTB Notorious rock band Guns N’ Roses was one of the world’s biggest bands in the late 80s and early 90s. The band’s first studio album, “Appetite for Destruction”, had big hits such as “Welcome To The Jungle”, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City”. But several other songs have also become audience favorites afterwards. For a period they played in arenas around the world. Then they actually sold tickets faster than both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones managed in their time. But even though the band experienced great success, they were also a rock band that lived the lifestyle to the fullest. It was sex, drugs and rock and roll. And so much arguing that all the members, apart from vocalist Axl Rose, left the band. – What is so good to know is that now Slash and Axl are friends and hang out together, says Vanebo and continues: – It seems that there is peace in the camp and has been for the past few years. Some believe Guns N’ Roses was the last poodle rock band. True or not, the hair was groomed for a period. Only concert in Norway In 2016, the band members had buried the hatchet and were reunited. Since then, they have embarked on several tours. The band has, among other things, held concerts in Oslo in both 2018 and 2023. They also visited Stavanger in 2022. This summer’s concert will be their first in Trondheim and the only one in Norway in 2025. – You can expect the soundtrack you grew up with, and violently with chorus. After all, they have some songs that sit dead in our marrow. They don’t exactly stand still either, even though they have grown up over time. In addition to Guns N’ Roses, hip-hop legends Public Enemy will be guests. The tickets go on sale from Friday 13 December. But earlier this autumn, Trondheim municipality and the organizer Trondheim Stage announced that the area will once again be used for concerts. In November, it was announced that Robbie Williams will be the second concert in Granåsen. He will arrive there on August 16. Vanebo is betting that there will be more concerts there in the years to come. – Getting great artists to Norway and Trondheim is something we work on all the time, all year, every year.
