Victory for Glimt after a goal from Faris Pemi Moumbagna – news Nordland

As so many times before, the yellows from Bodø showed that they don’t care how big the opponent is on paper. They swept Turkish Besiktas off the pitch at times, winning 1–2 at Tüpraş Stadyumu. That after beating the same team 3–1 at home at Aspmyra the week before. – It is incredibly gratifying. A big club. A good team. Extremely good individual players, says Kjetil Knutsen after the match. – Everyone who supports Glimt is of course very happy. The big hero for Bodø/Glimt was Faris Pemi Moumbagna, who scored two goals and now has three goals in the Serieliga’s group stage. In the stands sat frustrated and angry home fans, who before the match had been anything but satisfied with the club’s operations, and put all the blame on the club’s management. Now Glimt has its destiny in its own hands, when the last two group stage games are to be played against Lugano and Club Brugge. Detours to match It was expected that there would be a witch’s cauldron in Istanbul – and that the players would be put under great pressure. But even before the start of the match, attempts were made to make Glimt unsafe. The bus that was supposed to take the team to the stadium took 45 minutes longer than planned. To Viaplay after the match, Pellegrino says that he thinks it may have been premeditated. – It took 45 minutes more than it did when we got here yesterday. And the GPS showed quite a few detours. He adds: – But that’s how it is. There is a different cynicism in Europe. They may not have had the season they would have liked. There have been a lot of problems around the club. We show once again that we are a good team that can compete with everyone in Europe so far. The fans made it to the stadium long before the start of the match. It became more difficult for the team. Photo: AP Coach Kjetil Knutsen says he thinks it was surprising how long the bus took to get to the stadium. – We arrive an hour before the match and want to move it 15 minutes. UEFA says no to that, says Knutsen during the press conference. – For me, football is about fair play. When Besiktas come to Bodø, they will be welcomed as guests. I cannot answer who is responsible for the delay. Knutsen points out that he is satisfied with how the team handled the situation. – I think we kept our cool. Prepares us under slightly difficult conditions and handles it in a fantastic way. Pellegrino believes it may have been deliberate that the bus took much longer than planned to get to the stadium. Pellegrino was played through by a clever Albert Grønbæk, who took a free kick quickly after Faris Pemi Moumbagna was pulled down by former Manchester United player Eric Bailly. Unfortunately for Glimt, Pellegrino’s attempt was saved by goalkeeper Günok. After half an hour played and a half-chance for Besiktas, Glimt was on the move again. This time it was Patrick Berg who pushed forward in the middle of the pitch, and released the ball to Sondre Sørli. Sørli hit an exquisite cross to Moumbagna, who was allowed to stroll the ball into the goal. A goal that was followed by a deafening pipe concert Sørli would thus have his own opportunity to be last on the ball. He was played alone through by Pellegrino after a lovely preparation from Albert Grønbæk, but he too had to see himself beaten by Günok. Amahl Pellegrino sent the ball playfully through the defense of the Turks, and the ball found the quick legs of Moumbagna. The big power striker caressed the ball before sending it in an arc over the Besiktas goalkeeper, and the goal was a fact. After a lot of good Glimt play, they suddenly let the home team into the game again. Brice Wembangomo brought a gift package to Ante Rebic, who stole the ball. He passed it on to Bignöl inside the Glimt area and the newly substituted left-back responded by knocking the ball up at the farthest angle from 12-13 metres. Thus it was 1-2 after 63 minutes played. After the goal, Besiktas became much more prominent, and turned on the turbo. There were flashes of dangerous counterattacks, but the flow of the yellows disappeared at times in the second half. It became even more intense in the stands when captain Necip Uysal was sent off just before the end. In the end, Glimt managed to hold off against the mighty Besiktas, and is now in top position before the remaining games in the Serie Liga.
