The county board of the Trøndelag Labor Party has reviewed all submitted inquiries about moving members from Trond Giske’s local team, Nidaro’s social democratic forum, to the local teams. They state this in a press release after an extraordinary board meeting on Monday evening. – The county board’s assessment is that during the nomination process there have been several breaches of good organizational practice, writes Trøndelag Ap. It was two weeks ago that the board of the Trøndelag Labor Party decided that the process surrounding Giske’s fight to be nominated for a place in the Storting should be scrutinized. – We can’t have it like that – We have received a number of incidents and made a thorough assessment, Emil Raaen tells news after the meeting. He describes that there are violations of various kinds, and that they will not comment on all the individual incidents as they will look into some of them in more detail. – But a clear breach concerns this membership transfer, which is a collective membership transfer towards the nomination process. We believe that is very problematic, and we also believe that it must lead to changes, says Raaen – We cannot have a practice where we can participate in nomination processes in principle in different municipal party groups one after the other. We can’t have it that way. Emil Raaen is deputy chairman of the board. Want bylaw changes The county board unanimously made the following decision on Monday evening: The county board believes that organized and collective member transfers in the nomination process should not occur. The county board wants bylaw changes that regulate member transfers between municipal parties. The county board believes that the municipal parties should select delegates to the nomination meeting in line with the statutes and established practice in the individual municipal parties. The county board specifies that notification matters must be handled by the party office centrally in line with our statutes and guidelines. The county board will investigate in more detail any violations of statutes and guidelines linked to the implementation of nominations. It was two weeks ago that the board of the Trøndelag Labor Party decided that the process surrounding Giske’s fight to be nominated for a place in the Storting should be scrutinized. This was the topic of the meeting on Monday. – We will have a meeting about organizational matters, said leader of Trøndelag Ap, Ingvild Kjerkol, to news before the meeting. She would not give further details about the meeting. – We are a membership organisation, that is the reason why we do not share much with the public when it comes to members and union representatives.
