The government has thus accepted the Ministry of the Interior’s request for extradition, the press release states. It also states that the court of inquiry concluded that Bhatti is a suspect and may be involved in terrorism and other criminal acts. On the basis of the conclusion of both the federal police and the court of inquiry, the government has today approved the extradition. It is the second government in Pakistan that has approved the extradition, but as long as the case goes to court it is difficult to say whether this approval can be implemented. Bhatti has already appealed the decision of the court of inquiry and he is awaiting the appeal hearing in the Islamabad High Court.
