The OnePlus 13s demonstrates that a compact flagship smartphone is indeed possible. With a 6.32-inch screen, decent battery life, and an attractive price, this device has it all—except for European availability.

OnePlus has just launched the 13s, a smartphone that proves it’s possible to have a truly compact flagship. Featuring a  6.32-inch  screen,  Snapdragon 8 Elite , a  5850 mAh  battery, and an attractive price point, it ticks all the boxes. However, there is a catch.

The catch? There’s no waiting—we’ll tell you upfront: this smartphone will not be released in Europe. It’s a shame because it had the potential to win over users.

Compact Without Compromising

The OnePlus 13s demonstrates that a smartphone can remain “small”—with a significance to those quotation marks—while still housing serious components. With its  6.32-inch display , it has a similar size to the iPhone 16 Pro, yet manages to fit a  5850 mAh battery  into a chassis just  8.2 mm thick .

The  LTPO AMOLED  screen delivers a resolution of  2640 x 1216 pixels , boasting a brightness of  1600 nits  and a refresh rate of  up to 120 Hz . This is standard for a flagship device, yet in a format that fits comfortably in hand—especially at this price point.

OnePlus adds a touch of  customization  that’s Plus-configurable, similar to the action button found on the iPhone.

This button can be assigned any function you want: flashlight, silent mode, opening an app, and more—practical for daily use.

Weighing in at just  185 grams , the OnePlus 13s remains reasonable for a smartphone packed with technology. OnePlus has successfully optimized the available space.

Decent Photography, Top-Notch Performance

On the photography front, OnePlus employs dual  50-megapixel  sensors on the rear—a main sensor with a  Sony LYT-700  and a  2x telephoto lens . No frills, just the essentials to cover everyday needs. The  32-megapixel  front-facing camera completes the setup.

The  Snapdragon 8 Elite  ensures flagship-level performance. This recent chip provides both power and energy efficiency, ideal for a compact smartphone that must manage battery life intelligently.

OnePlus claims  16 hours  of autonomy on social media, with  10 hours  for video calls and  7 hours  for gaming. These impressive figures demonstrate the effectiveness of the robust battery.

Charging via  80 W USB-C  allows for quick energy recovery when needed. This offers a good balance between capacity and recharge speed.

All the Necessary Connectivity

OnePlus didn’t skimp on connectivity features.  Wi-Fi 7 ,  Bluetooth 6.0  with  aptX HD  and  LDAC  codecs, and  NFC  are all included. The fingerprint sensor is integrated beneath the display, as is expected from a modern smartphone—except, of course, among Apple devices.

Initial images suggest careful attention to detail in the build quality. OnePlus has mastered the art of creating a premium smartphone, even in a compact format.

A Price That Sparks Interest

OnePlus has priced the 13s at  560 euros  for the  12 GB RAM  and  256 GB  storage version. The  512 GB  model increases to  610 euros . These aggressive rates stand out compared to other flagship prices, which often exceed  1000 euros  in Europe.

This pricing positions it directly against less premium smartphones while offering top-tier performance. This strategy seems effective in  India , where pricing competition is fierce.

For Europeans accustomed to high flagship prices, these rates could have made a significant impact. Sadly, we may never know.

The downside of the OnePlus 13s? It will only be released in India. OnePlus has announced no plans for Europe, leaving the European market without an exciting alternative to the current giant smartphones.
