The global penalty of 25 percent on steel and aluminum introduced by US President Donald Trump came into force at 5 o’clock at 5 o’clock on Wednesday. It is global and without exception. -In response, the Commission launches a number of countermeasures to protect European companies, workers and customers from the effects of these unjustified trade restrictions, the European Commission writes in a press release. The Commission will, among other things, reintroduce countermeasures introduced against Trump’s penalties in 2018 and 2020. These will come into force again on April 1 and will hit boats, whiskey and motor boats. Products for up to 26 billion euros, just over NOK 300 billion, can be included. In addition, further measures are introduced, the Commission writes.
