On Sunday afternoon, Aalbu posed for a press conference where he lay flat and admitted that the Norwegian jump camp had deliberately cheated when Marius Lindvik and Johann Forfang’s suits were sewn. Aalbu answered a long time and much, but not satisfactory according to the CEO of the Austria’s Ski Federation, Christian Scherer. He strongly criticizes the Norwegian sports manager. – It provided zero insight. It was very strange, arrogant and untrustworthy. He gave no answers to the most important and obvious questions. And in addition, he found out about it until today (Sunday), Scherer said in an interview with the news agency APA after the press conference. – This arrogance must be punished. Now someone has no grip on their discipline, then they must be ready to step down. The Norwegian Ski Federation is advisable to suspend all responsible in the team while the investigation is ongoing, Scherer thundered. He is also critical that neither national team coach Magnus Brevig nor anyone from the leadership of the Norwegian Ski Federation lined up at the press conference. Brevig was present when the Norwegian tailor manipulated the aforementioned jumping suits. For Scherer, it is inconceivable that responsible Norwegian team leaders will still be in their roles when the World Cup continues in Oslo next Thursday. – What do the other athletes feel if the same people who have proven to cheat, continue to compete on the slopes? he asks. Aalbu does not respond directly to the criticism from Scherer, but tells NTB that he understands that the Austrian and others are disappointed with the Norwegian cheating. – I have a great understanding that we as a jump nation have disappointed Scherer and everyone else who cares about the jumping sport, but I can assure him that I take this case down seriously, he writes in an email.
