Sissel Trønsdal asks for information from the municipal director after an unexpected death at a nursing home in Klæbu – news Trøndelag

– I think it hurts a lot. I have great compassion for relatives who are probably in a lot of pain. This is what Sissel Trønsdal (Labor Party), chair of the health and welfare committee in Trondheim municipality, says. She is interested in finding out what has happened after it became known that a man died unexpectedly at Klæbu health and welfare center three weeks after he moved there. “Gross public care failure” It was at the beginning of May that the State Administrator in Trøndelag received a complaint from relatives. In the complaint, they claim that the man, who had a disability and little language, died of thirst and hunger and as a result of “gross public care failure”. Relatives believe that the man did not get his daily needs for food and care covered, and they also complain about the lack of information and cooperation. The state administrator in Trøndelag has established a supervisory case based on the complaint. It was here, at Klæbu health and welfare center, that a man died unexpectedly in March. County doctor Jan Vaage tells news that Trondheim municipality has confirmed that everything has not been as it should be, and that the complaint seems serious. – How do you react to what has come out so far? – If there is a failure of care, or that it is due to routines that have not been followed up, then I think it is absolutely terrible. But we must get to the bottom of this, says Trønsdal to news. She will therefore ask for information from the municipal director. – If it is the case that there has been a failure of care, then we must ensure that such things never happen again at our health and welfare centers, she says and adds: – People should feel safe and well taken care of. We need to review this now, and I need to get an update from the director. Sissel Trønsdal (Labor Party) has asked for information from the municipal director.
