Compact phones deserve a round of applause. It started with the OnePlus 13s , and now the Vivo X200 Fe joins the fray, delivering almost all the advantages of a high-premium range in a compact size . However, there are certain elements worth questioning. Not everything about this phone is perfect.
Nonetheless, after just over a week of examining the Vivo X200 Fe , I can confidently say that it is one of those phones I would gladly use in my daily life . Given my high standards for flagship mobile devices, that is no small feat.

Design, Display, and Sound

The moment I picked up the Vivo in its Blue Breeze color, I was mesmerized. The vibrant blue is stunning, and the matte finish resists fingerprints remarkably well. The feel in hand is undeniably premium, rivaling even devices that are priced higher. Several acquaintances commented on how beautiful the phone looked, which is not an everyday occurrence.
The Vivo X200 Fe is one of the most striking phones to come through our analysis table in 2025
Weighing in at just 186 grams , the Vivo X200 Fe is relatively compact, standing at 15 cm tall. Numerous Vivo phones have passed through my hands, and this one stands out as the model that has truly impressed me in terms of design. Its aesthetic is reminiscent of the iPhone 16 , featuring flat sides and rounded edges, a design choice I personally favor.
However, I do have one complaint regarding the location of the buttons . Positioned quite high, it can be challenging to access the volume controls comfortably, especially for a smaller phone where ergonomics are crucial.

The display also impresses tremendously. Equipped with AMOLED technology, a 1.5K resolution , 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, it checks all the boxes for a quality screen. Additionally, the PWM Dimming at a high rate of 2,160 Hz ensures that it is gentle on the eyes.

The resulting display is truly stellar, offering excellent brightness and calibration, proving that a sub-7-inch screen can still deliver impeccable quality. As for audio quality, it was another pleasant surprise. Compact phones often struggle in this department, but the Vivo X200 Fe soareds above expectations with crisp, clear sound free of distortion, even at maximum volume.
Performance, Software, and Battery Life

On the performance front, I must point out some shortcomings. While the Mediatek 9300+ processor does the job well, I can’t help but feel that it falls short of the flagship expectations set by the Vivo brand. With the price tag approaching €849 , a more powerful chip, like the Snapdragon 8 Elite , would be more appropriate.
The current processor isn’t bad; the phone runs smoothly, and most users likely wouldn’t notice a significant difference compared to higher-end models. Nevertheless, for this price range, one always expects premium components.

PROCESSOR | MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ | Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 | MediaTek Dimensity 9400E | Apple A18 Pro | Snapdragon 8 Elite |
RAM | 12 GB | 12 GB | 12 GB | 8 GB | 16 GB |
Geekbench 6 (single/multi) | 2,112 / 6,650 | 2,028 / 6,271 | 2,239 / 7,209 | 3,106 / 7,799 | 3,150 / 9,664 |

PCMark Work | 13,485 | 15,181 | 12,806 | – | 25,431 |
Benchmark scores reveal where this chip stands. Its CPU performance is comparable to that of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 , but it lags behind competitors like the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Apple A18 Pro . While these figures aren’t alarming, they do raise questions about the overall value of a phone in this price range.
Thermal management is another area needing improvement. Living in a warm climate, I noticed this was one of the few phones that became noticeably warm during intensive tasks, like recording 4K video or gaming for extended periods. This could affect its longevity, as heat can degrade components over time.

Regarding software, I am pleased with what Vivo has delivered. The Funtouch OS is a well-crafted blend of stock Android and customized features akin to past Oxygen OS versions. It comes with Google apps pre-installed, allowing for extensive personalizations and minimal bloatware.
Functions like live subtitles , various photo editing options, and other useful features enhance the overall experience, without overshadowing the essential functionalities.
As for battery life, the Vivo X200 Fe is a champion. With a 6,500mAh capacity and 90W fast charging , it certainly impresses. Users can easily achieve 11 hours of screen time daily, which is exceptional, even for heavy users. In my tests, I still had more than 60% battery left after 4 hours of continuous usage. Moreover, its power consumption while idle is impressively low, proving that size doesn’t discount battery performance.

Battery consumption analytics clear: 1 hour of screen time per 10% battery spent.
Cameras: A Compact Solution

Before discussing the camera capabilities, let’s take a moment to appreciate its design. The rear camera module is discreet and does not overtake the aesthetic of the phone, which remains largely sleek and appealing.
The camera setup includes:
- 50 Megapixel main sensor by Zeiss
- 50 Megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x zoom
- 8 Megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor
The camera app is feature-rich yet intuitive, providing various options for photography enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking to take standard photos or venture into time-lapse and pro modes, the application offers a plethora of features to explore.
Main Sensor Performance

The photo quality from the Vive X200 FE is commendable, exhibiting great dynamic range and a favorable white balance. This camera consistently delivers in various lighting conditions, ensuring you get quality shots regardless of time or setting.

However, while shooting at high resolutions, users may notice a slight watercolor effect when zooming in on the images. This is not due to a quality issue but rather a consequence of processing decisions that might be adjusted through future software updates.
Importantly, preserving the natural feel and sharpness of pictures remains a challenge some manufacturers face, but it’s a nuance that Vivo has an opportunity to improve going forward.
Telephoto Sensor Performance

1x | 3x Optical Zoom Comparison.

10x zoom Sample.
The telephoto sensor delivers great performance, especially with its 3x optical zoom . Despite some softening of image quality, it offers consistency in color, dynamic range, and white balance, making it a reliable option for zoomed captures.
Ultra Wide Angle Performance

The 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor is undoubtedly a weaker point. It’s evident that Vivo may have prioritized a clean design over optimal functionality, leading to a less impressive camera setup in this regard.
Selfie Performance

Selfie performance is satisfactory, but the image processing can overemphasize skin tone, resulting in high brightness levels in some shots.
Video Performance
Video recording isn’t the Vivo X200 Fe’s strongest point. Although it captures content in up to 4K resolution , the lack of stabilization can be noticeable, impacting overall quality. It appears that the software is still being fine-tuned for optimal video performance.
Conclusion
The Vivo X200 Fe certainly caught my attention. It is, without a doubt, one of the few phones I would consider purchasing for myself—if it weren’t for the processor. At a price point of €849 , consumers can find devices featuring some of the top chips on the market. However, promotional offers currently allow you to purchase this phone with a €80 discount, a complimentary charger, and Vivo TWS 3e headphones , adding further incentives for potential buyers.
Despite its drawbacks, the Vivo X200 Fe is a well-rounded device that’s not lacking when compared with other ambitious proposals on the market.
