Photo: Kamilla Pedersen E18 was closed due to all the trucks and cars that had problems with the road. Norwegian People’s Aid rushed out and handed out water, mats and warm blankets to motorists who were stuck in their cars. On Tuesday morning, things are about to settle and the European route is open again. Fortunately, the weather will be calmer on Tuesday and Wednesday. Slippery roads But at the Meteorological Institute, they ask people to prepare for even more snow in the coming days. – You can count on waking up to more snowfall in Eastern Norway on Thursday. But that precipitation can eventually turn into rain that freezes on the ground, says meteorologist Terje Alsvik Walløe at the Meteorological Institute. But also in Sørlandet, the snow that comes on Wednesday evening could change to rain during Thursday. – Thursday could be problematic, I think. It can be a bit slippery then too, says Walløe. The precipitation coming into the south and east of the country will also lead to some wind. – Then there will certainly be some problems on the mountain passes between east and west, I would think. From Hardangervidda and Haukeli there will be snow overnight until Thursday. – From tomorrow evening there may be a warning of gusts of wind in Rogaland. The wind that comes in Agder will be felt in Rogaland as a gale from the east. It is not often that the Red Cross and Norwegian People’s Aid are called out for rescue missions along the E18 in Ørje. The mild weather that arrives on Thursday afternoon will probably cause the snow in the lowlands to rain away – I think it will be grey, wet and mild at the weekend. The plus degrees are coming back. So in any case, you have to climb higher before the snow settles, says Walløe. Tuesday is Halloween and in connection with you, the Meteorological Institute has issued a separate weather forecast for those who go trick or treating tonight. Photo: Meteorological Institute Fine weather in the north From central Norway and northwards it has been fine and cold for the past few days. That weather will continue for a few more days. – There will be a cold wind, but no significant precipitation in Trøndelag. There may be some light snowfall at the start of the day in Trøndelag, says Walløe. Calm weather is also expected in northern Norway over the next few days. – In the north there is almost no precipitation at all. There may be some showers on the coast of Finnmark, but the big picture is calm conditions in northern Norway.
