Melodien i Moommidalen” – Reviews and recommendations

Everything is in jeopardy when the Snusmumrikken returns to Moomindalen after its annual winter journey. The park service and the police have built ugly, closed parks where there used to be untouched nature. At the same time, they have placed heaps of prohibition signs in nature. The river has dried up. Many are afraid. And Moomin – the best friend of Snusmumrikken – has disappeared. You step into the role of the curious and helpful Snusmumrikken. The story is completely new, but appears as a faithful game version of Tove Jansson’s almost 80-year-old universe. SET NATURE FREE: Signs that tell you that “you are not allowed to walk here”, “don’t touch this” and the like, irritate the Snuffmumrikken, which is a lover of wild nature. The Snusmumrikken stings when winter comes, and returns in the spring. But this spring, there is a lot that is different in Moomindalen, and Snusmumrikken must get to the bottom of the mystery. The mysterious figure Hufsa is there as usual. But what does Hufsa want, and is she really dangerous? Anyone who plays gets to see. Snusmumrikken is a philosophical wanderer who appreciates the peace and tranquility of nature. The game succeeds in creating an audiovisual universe that suits the character, writes news’s reviewer. Mummimamma is worried about her vegetable garden. Photo: Hyper Games/Raw Fury Hufsa and Little My This means that you will have a fond reunion with Moommin’s bouquet of well-known and beloved characters, from Little My to Hufsa. Their many peculiarities testify to respect for their origins. The beautiful, hand-drawn visual style of the Norwegian studio Hyper Games also stands very well next to Jansson’s characteristic drawings. Not least, the music of the Icelandic indie favorite Sigur Rós provides an absolutely beautiful and melancholic setting. About the game Photo: Hyper Games/Raw Fury Title: “Snusmumrikken: Melodien i Moominvalley” Original title: “Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley” Developer: Hyper Games Publisher: Raw Fury Genre: Adventure Platform: Nintendo Switch / Windows / Mac Age recommendation: PEGI 3 + Moomin Valley unfolds as an open world that you can explore freely. Don’t expect anything on the scale of “Elden Ring” or “Tears of the Kingdom”, but there are enough side stories and optional content here that I think it’s a good move. Both the inhabitants and the wildlife have been affected by the brutal invasion of The park service, and the tasks in the game are linked to extending a helping hand to those who need it. The ugly prohibition signs must be removed. Caves to be explored. Mysteries to be solved. The peaceful balance in the valley must be restored, quite simply. FULL OF ATMOSPHERE: Beautiful animations and lovely music by Icelandic Sigur Rós are some of the things news’s reviewer highlights in his praise of the new game.Hyper Games/Raw Fury Instruments as weapons The experience and tasks are as straight-to-the-point and soberly formulated as they precise the stories of Tove Jansson. A strange little creature needs help finding its own name. Another has lost his favorite toy. A spider refuses to move. An invisible person has lost his clothes. Great little stories that add texture and depth to the experience. Your “weapons” are various musical instruments, which can affect birds, ants, crocodiles and other animals. A nod to the flute in “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”, perhaps. TRAILER: Snusmumrikken has the main role in the new Norwegian Moomin game “Snusmumrikken: Melodien i Moommidalen”. Watch the trailer here. Video: Hyper Games / Raw Fury “Snusmumrikken” appears overall as a somewhat stripped-down and simplified Zelda experience. And it’s a minimalist approach that works great. Because a whole emerges that makes an impression. The evocative music, the beautiful visual style and the creativity in the tasks to be solved suit Moominworld very well. The glue is the great script, which mixes captivating adventures with small side tracks about loneliness, not belonging, lack of self-confidence and other human challenges. The serious backdrop is seasoned with pointed and often successful humour. Childish perspective This childish perspective on familiar issues is probably the main reason why the Moomin Valley universe has followers in all age groups. So although this game probably hits younger players best, there is a lot to gain for us a little older too. Shooting monsters with laser guns is fun, but I really appreciate gaming experiences that find other, more subtle ways into my heart as well. “Snusmumrikken: Melodien i Moommidalen” does just that. This is a stylish and beautiful respite in the world of games. PS: “Snusmumrikken: Melodien i Moommidalen” will be launched on 7 March. It has been tested on Nintendo Switch, and is also being launched for Windows and Mac. Versions for iOS and Android will come later this year. Hello, game friends!
