Marshall has just updated two fundamental pillars of its home audio catalog. The new Acton IV and Stanmore IV retain the recognizable aesthetic inspired by classic guitar amplifiers, while introducing significant acoustic improvements and modern technologies to meet contemporary demands.
Optimized Acoustics for Every Space
The standout feature of this fourth generation is the redesign of its internal architecture. Marshall has enhanced the tweeters and waveguides, allowing for a noticeably wider and more defined sound scene, ensuring a homogeneous dispersion of sound throughout the room. These upgrades make both models adaptable for placement in any corner of your home.
Additionally, an intelligent change in the bass port design optimizes airflow, delivering cleaner low frequencies. The cable exit has also been redesigned, allowing speakers to be placed flush against the wall without compromising bass performance or causing unwanted rumble. This attention to detail enhances both functionality and aesthetics.
To maintain sound balance at any volume level, both models feature Dynamic Loudness technology. This system subtly adjusts frequencies automatically so that music retains body and warmth, even at lower volumes, and reduces distortion at higher volumes.
Advanced Connectivity with Auracast
In terms of connectivity, the new models integrate Auracast technology, enabling the native synchronization of multiple Acton IV and Stanmore IV speakers throughout the house for a seamless multi-room audio experience. Even previous generation models (Acton III and Stanmore III) can be incorporated into this system with the use of Heddon, the brand’s new transmitter and streaming hub.
Fans of analog formats will appreciate the RCA analog inputs and 3.5mm AUX port, providing an excellent option for connecting turntables for a rich analog listening experience in any living space.
Sustainability Meets Classic Design
Marshall has not sacrificed its signature look—instead, the top panels continue to feature classic brass analog controls for intuitive management of volume, bass, and treble. A new fully customizable “M” button allows quick access to functions like Spotify Tap, adding a modern touch to the nostalgic design.
In a bid for sustainability, the cabinets are made from 100% FSC certified MDF wood and include recycled materials (13% in the Acton IV and 16% in the Stanmore IV). The modular structure has been designed to facilitate repairs, enabling easy replacement of wearing parts like legs, controls, or the front grille.
