“I cannot hide my  rage .” A week after the tragic death of  Benoît , a 17-year-old who was fatally stabbed in Dax (Landes) during the celebrations of  PSG’s  Champions League victory, his father spoke publicly at a tribute to his son.

“Benoît was supposed to turn 18 today,” his father reminded the crowd gathered on Rue Saint-Ursule. “He was a  respectful  boy, loved by everyone he met, whether in sports, music, school, or at work. He didn’t deserve this.”

The Suspect Still at Large

Following the emotional tribute, the anger of Benoît’s father became evident as he addressed his son’s  murderer . “I want to kill that guy with my own hands, I’ll say it frankly,” he exclaimed. “To kill him and bury him in a field like a wild animal. He’s worthless, that guy is a coward. As I told Benoît, when we  fight  for a disagreement, we do it with our bare hands, like a man. That’s what courageous men do, and  Benoît was courageous .”

The alleged murderer is a 16-year-old French minor. He is currently at large and the subject of a  Red Notice  from Interpol, making him the only minor worldwide listed under these alerts that indicate the  dangerous  nature of the individual at large.

Multiple Stab Wounds

The victim, who was killed by “ multiple stab wounds ” to the chest, had a “ pre-existing conflict ” with the alleged perpetrator, reportedly over the theft of his baseball cap just days prior, according to Dax prosecutor Benoît Fontaine.

On Tuesday, the magistrate further stated that the investigation is proceeding under the classification of  murder , as the nature of the conflict between the perpetrator and the victim suggests a  premeditated act .

The incident occurred on Saturday around 11 PM near  Place de la Fontaine-Chaude  in downtown Dax, where several hundred people had gathered to watch the PSG-Inter Milan Champions League final broadcast by various bars, as there was no official fan zone.

The adolescent was stabbed in “a quieter adjacent street to the square,” according to the prosecution, before succumbing to his injuries in the hospital around 1:15 AM on Sunday.
