The country has ramped up its military budget by an eye-popping 43.11%, from €22.69 billion to €33.12 billion. Indra has announced its intention to create 3,000 direct jobs in tandem with these investments. The company predicts that its current supply chain of approximately 1,000 collaborators will expand by adding around 200 partners in the coming years.
The infusion of state credits is designed to encourage local production capacities, leading to anticipated job creation not only in direct employment but also in the wider ecosystem. Estimates point to the potential creation of over 23,000 direct jobs and 60,000 indirect jobs across the sector, featuring higher salaries and advanced training opportunities.

As part of its ambitious hiring plan, Indra is actively seeking 2,400 new qualified professionals. These positions will cater to the demands posed by the increased focus on military and cybersecurity technologies. In addition, Indra is working closely with vocational training centers, having signed agreements with 346 institutions to train the next generation of professionals. The company aims to integrate 75% of its interns into permanent roles, creating a strong pipeline of talent for the industry.
Escribano has expressed his firm belief that vocational training is essential for generating a technically skilled workforce. He stated that a nation aspiring to develop solid industrial capabilities and genuine technological autonomy must invest heavily in vocational education.
