The ministry published its  latest list  concerning counterfeit and adulterated products, uncovering disturbing findings from a specific establishment. Notably, two products linked to the same company were identified for violations that breach consumer trust and safety regulations.

The first significant finding details a product indicated as  “beef” . However, laboratory tests revealed that this so-called beef actually consisted of meat from  single-humped animals , a deviation from what consumers expect. Consumers had been led to believe they were purchasing beef, with the product’s expiration date listed as  January 24, 2025 .

Similarly, the second product presented as  “beef,”  also flagged in the ministry’s analysis, was revealed to contain  single-humped animal meat  as well. The date for the expiration of this misleadingly labeled product was recorded as  January 30, 2025 . Such disclosures raise serious questions about the integrity of the food supply chain and consumer safety within Turkey.

This establishment, known as Biftek33 and associated with the EMR Group Restaurant, gained significant attention through its engaging social media presence. The restaurant became popular by posting videos that showcased the preparation of their tantalizing  tantuni , a type of wrap typically filled with spiced meat. These flashy videos caught the eye of many food enthusiasts, establishing Biftek33 as a trendy dining location.

However, following the release of the ministry’s list naming the establishment for food adulteration, a public backlash ensued. Customers and followers on social media expressed their outrage and disappointment, condemning the actions that misled consumers regarding the quality and type of food being offered.
