France Télévisions announced on Monday, September 29, that  Lou Deleuze , an  11-year-old  talent, will represent France in the upcoming  2025 Junior Eurovision . Lou is set to join other young performers on December 13 with her captivating song,  “This World.”

This year’s Junior Eurovision will take place live from  Tbilisi, Georgia , featuring  18 young artists  who will compete to showcase their countries’ musical prowess. Lou was chosen as the French representative to uphold the nation’s proud tradition at this international event, a decision revealed by France Télévisions.

The End of a “Pop” Cycle

The  Junior Eurovision  stage will mark one of the first major performances for Lou Deleuze. The young singer expressed her passion for music, saying, *“I sang as soon as I started talking.”* Lou, who first caught the public’s eye on the show  “France has an Incredible Talent”  on M6, has crafted an artistic persona that diverges from her predecessors, many of whom leaned towards typical  pop  styles.

Describing her journey, Lou has captured the hearts of many with her unique approach to music. Unlike the pop norms, her style reflects a blend of  nostalgia  and  modern trends , signaling a new direction for French representation at this event.

A Song with a Message

“You can laugh at me, you can even say what you want, I will not abandon it, you hear I fight. I would like to change the story, so that hope comes back. Give me the future, just there in my hands, and I will make it flourish.” These poignant lyrics from her song,  “This World,”  resonate deeply with listeners. In an interview with  news.fr , she revealed her desire to *“get a message across.”* The song serves not only as a personal anthem but also conveys a universal theme of  resilience .

The composition of “This World” credits  Pauline Thisse , who goes by the stage name  Lih . Together, Lou and Lih have created a piece that embodies both  nostalgic  feelings and  contemporary  sounds, a balance beautifully articulated by  Alexandra Redde-Amiel , the head of the French delegation.

A Fourth French Victory?

<pThe anticipation surrounding Lou Deleuze has been palpable. Redde-Amiel admitted having had a “favorite” in Lou during her initial selection process in 2024, stating, “But I told myself that it was necessary to give her time.” With her evident talent and determination, Lou seems ready to captivate the audience on the biggest stage of her young career.

Lou is not just a singer; she has proven herself in the film industry as well. With three movies to her name since the age of seven, including  “The Teeth of Happiness,”  for which she received a  Unifrance Female Interpretation Award  in 2023, her multi-faceted talent indicates a bright future ahead. As she prepares for the Junior Eurovision, fans and critics alike hope she can mirror the success of previous French winners like  Valentina in 2020, Lissandro in 2022,  and  Zoé Clauzure in 2023.

As the  Junior Eurovision  approaches, Lou Deleuze represents more than just a competitor; she embodies the potential of a generation of  young artists.  With her message-driven song and determination, Lou is poised to carry the torch for France, making a mark not only for herself but for the future of music. Her journey inspires countless young aspirations in the arts, and fans cannot wait to see how she lights up the stage in Tbilisi. This moment promises to be the beginning of what could very well be an extraordinary career for Lou Deleuze.
