3 March 2024 at 02:00 Emergency rocket observed outside Halsnøy On the night of Sunday, the Norwegian Central Rescue Service (HRS) launched a search outside Halsnøy in Vestland. An emergency rocket was observed there at around 00:30. A rescue helicopter, a rescue boat and an ambulance boat took part in the search. A message was also sent out to boats in the area. – No one has been reported missing in the area. If we do not find indications that something may have happened, we will end the search, said rescue manager Cecilie Øversveen to news. At 03:00, HRS states that they ended the search without finding anything. – There is always a challenge with such observations in areas with both land and sea. Then we cannot rule out that it was shot from the sea, and must therefore take measures, said Øversveen. She adds that they are also used to emergency rockets being launched in connection with celebrations. – They have fun and fun, and don’t think about the consequences of sending up an emergency rocket.
