DNB earned NOK 13.6 billion before tax in the first quarter of the year. It shows a recent quarterly report from the company. Following taxes, the profits were NOK 10.8 billion. In total, the big bank had sales of NOK 21.9 billion this period. – This is a good result that testifies that there is good activity in the Norwegian economy. It is a result that also testifies to very high activity across all customer areas, but perhaps especially well within personal customers and the small and medium-sized companies, says DNB chief Kjerstin Braathen to news. At the same time, Braathen points out in a stock exchange announcement that there is increased uncertainty globally related to trade conflict, and that a weakened world economy will affect Norway. – At the same time, the Norwegian economy is robust, and Norway has significant muscles to stimulate the economy if needed, says Braathen. At the same time, there is increased activity in DNB’s lending activities, according to the company. DNB says they lent NOK 6.7 billion more this quarter, and that the number of applications for financing certificates increased by 30 per cent.
