On Saturday evening, two dead people were found outside a cabin in Åfjord in Trøndelag. – It is a married couple in their 80s who live in Trondheim who have been found. The neighbor sought out the cabin and found the couple dead outside. I don’t think anything criminal has happened – The preliminary autopsy reports show that there could be several possible reasons for the deaths, but none of these indicate that anything criminal has happened. Both were elderly people characterized by old age, which may have been a contributing factor to the deaths, says Ingrid Kaja Read, the prosecuting officer in the case in Trøndelag police district. So far, no information has come to light in the case that indicates that anything criminal has occurred. – The final autopsy report will come in a few weeks and it can hopefully give more concrete answers to the causes of death, says Read in the press release. Crisis team alerted The mayor of Åfjord, Erling Iversen, says that the crisis team in the municipality was connected to the case. – This of course affects us. My thoughts go out to the family. I hope that there can be clarity in what has happened, Iversen said earlier this week. He says that Åfjord is a municipality with many cabins, and that the local population and the cabin dwellers in the municipality are close to each other.
