A Korean group was stunned at the village wedding: “We were shocked by their unexpected requests!”

Aram Solkim, a renowned  social media influencer , embarked on a fascinating caravan journey across  Turkey  with a group of fellow Korean tourists. Their adventure took a surprising turn when they paused in  Alaçam Village , located in the Mudurnu district of  Bolu , coinciding with a vibrant village wedding.

As they enjoyed the lively atmosphere, the Korean tourists were invited by wedding guests to partake in a delicious feast. This friendly gesture quickly turned perplexing when they were met with an unexpected request for  5,000 Turkish Lira  (approximately $260) in payment for the meals they had consumed.

Speaking about the incident, Aram Solkim shared, “We stopped in Alaçam Village during our caravan trip. The welcoming locals said, ‘Have some tea and enjoy.’ In Korea, such acts of kindness are uncommon, so we were taken aback. Their hospitality led to a satisfying meal.” However, the circumstances took a strange turn after the food was served.

“You Have Dined Well, Now Pay 5,000 Lira”

Before leaving the village, a local pulled Solkim aside and stated, “You have dined well, and now you need to pay  5,000 Lira .” Initially shocked, the tourists managed to negotiate the bill down to  3,000 Lira . Aram expressed concern about the implications for his fellow Korean travelers, saying, “They do not know about this kind of charge, and I hope they remain unaware.” This experience highlights a clash of cultural expectations and highlights the tourists’ vulnerability in unfamiliar surroundings.
