The military plane with Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima and eight others on board took off from the capital Lilongwe on Monday. The plane was due to land in Mzuzu 50 minutes later, but was asked to turn back due to bad weather. Since then, a large search operation has been underway, after the plane disappeared from the radar. Pictures shared with AFP are said to show soldiers standing on a misty slope near the plane wreckage.
