The first year for payment is 2018. In today’s krone value, this will mean a total of NOK 175 million over 25 years. However, the payment must be adjusted annually in line with price growth. The government will also allocate 0.1 øre per kilowatt-hour of the value creation at the wind farm directly to the reindeer herding. For the reindeer herding owners in Nord Fosen, this will mean a sum of just over NOK 2 million annually, Roan Vind tells news. It is therefore likely that the total compensation will be at least NOK 225 million for the entire concession period. Nord-Fosen siida has also received an advance payment of NOK 5 million. The parties agree that this amount shall not be settled in the final settlement, says the agreement which became known today. In addition, Roan Vind Nord-Fosen siida covers the costs of necessary legal assistance in connection with entering into and implementing the agreement. Furthermore, the government will set aside five million kroner for a South Sami cultural fund in the revised national budget for 2024, the agreement states.
