Today the case started in Hordaland district court, where the man in his 30s risks being sentenced to up to 15 years in prison. It was in August 2022 that the police found the boy tied to a bed, badly injured. The case led to the resignation of both the city council and the director of children’s services in Bergen, due to serious shortcomings in the follow-up from the child welfare services. Seven days have been set aside for the case in Hordaland district court.
