Just after 5.30pm on Friday afternoon, the on-call lawyer for Buskerud in the Sør-East police district confirms that the motorbike driver who was involved in the traffic accident on Steinsåsen in Hole on Thursday afternoon has died. This is reported by Ringerikes Blad. According to the newspaper, the deceased man is in his 50s and from Øystre Slidre municipality in Valdres. The next of kin have been notified. It was Thursday evening at 6pm that the emergency services went to E16 on Steinsåsen. The man was taken to Ullevål hospital by air ambulance. The police characterized it as a serious traffic accident. Operations manager at the Sørøst police district, Espen Reite, said the following to news: – There is a motorbike involved in the traffic accident. We have spoken to several witnesses at the scene and they all confirm the same thing: It is a single accident. Reite says that witnesses at the scene started with CPR before paramedics took over and then crews from the air ambulance that arrived at the scene at 7pm. At 19.12 the police inform that the motorbike driver has been flown to Ullevål hospital for further treatment. The man died at 11 o’clock on Friday morning, the newspaper writes.
