June 24, 2022 at 16:12 Argentina sent the beach handball women out of the WC The Norwegian beach handball women smoked out of the WC after they had to go out in a “shootout” against Argentina on Friday afternoon. Argentina came out best in the last group game in the main round and won the first set 28-24. Norway fought back and won the second set 22-20. Thus, the stage was set for the penalty shootout. Despite Argentina missing on their attempt, Norway had to give up after missing on both their first, third and fourth attempts. Norway and Argentina were level on points before this afternoon’s match, so the Norwegian girls had to win to advance further in the meter. The Argentine women thus follow Brazil, the Netherlands and Germany to the quarterfinals from group two. Norway has been a medal wholesaler in the beach handball World Cup on the women’s side, but this year’s championship has started badly. It was Norwegian gold in 2010 and then three straight bronze medals before they took silver in 2018.
