Suspect that the fire at the school has been set – news Trøndelag

There were flames coming out of one of the classrooms when the emergency services arrived at Charlottenlund secondary school last night. Large parts of the building are smoke damaged and most pupils at the school are asked to stay at home on Friday. – Based on what we have found at the scene here, our theory is that the fire may have been set. So far we have no suspects and are now investigating the case broadly, says operations manager Trond Volden at the police in Trøndelag. The fire started in a classroom at the school and there is extensive burn damage. In a message to parents at the school, headmaster Bjørn Ivar Midjo writes that there will be no classes for 9th and 10th grade. 8th grade will meet as normal as their area is not affected by the fire. There are approximately 500 pupils at Charlottenlund secondary school. The fire service moved out after the 110 central received a message that an automatic fire alarm had gone off at the school. There were open flames when the firemen arrived at the scene. The police have started an investigation into the fire at Charlottenlund secondary school, which they suspect may have been arson.
