Weather Alerts for Mendoza, Neuquén, and Río Negro

Yellow and orange weather alerts are currently in effect for regions in Mendoza, Neuquén, and Río Negro. Rainfall warnings have been issued for Neuquén and Río Negro, with heavy rainfall expected.

The SMN anticipates 10 to 30 millimeters of rain accumulation in yellow alert zones, with a possibility of exceeding these amounts. In higher altitude areas, precipitation is likely to occur as a mixture of rain and snow.

Snowfall Expectations

Snowfall warnings have been issued, with yellow alerts affecting regions of Neuquén and Río Negro, alongside both yellow and orange alerts in Mendoza. The forecast indicates potential snowfall accumulations between 20 to 40 centimeters in yellow alert regions, while areas under orange alert may see accumulations of 40 to 60 centimeters.

Seasonal Forecast for July to September

Looking ahead to July, August, and September, the weather forecast indicates varied patterns across the country. The north and center regions will experience a warmer than usual quarter, while the Northwest (NOA) and northern Cuyo may face significant drought conditions.

Reports drawn from global climate simulations suggest a higher probability of temperatures above the seasonal norm for NOA, Cuyo, and the province of Córdoba. Conversely, areas like the east and south of Buenos Aires, alongside eastern Patagonia, are expected to maintain normal winter temperatures.
