This early exploration marked the beginning of mankind’s fascination with this remarkable body of water.

Seven years later, Magellan navigated through the treacherous Tierra del Fuego, naming the waters “Pacific”—a name that misleadingly suggests tranquility. Contrary to its serene label, the Pacific Ocean is a hub of seismic activity, violent storms, and extreme weather phenomena, including catastrophic typhoons.
