From time to time, the Madrid City Council  opens an online auction to sell devices  that have been stored for some time in the Lost and Found Offices. While it’s common for owners to claim their lost items, many objects remain unclaimed for years. Consequently, the City Council occasionally decides to declutter these offices by auctioning off a variety of items.

Among the auctioned items, there are over  500 electronic devices , including mobile phones, computers, consoles, and even drones.  This is an auction , meaning interested buyers will need to place bids to win their desired items.

Auction Conditions

The auction consists of  138 lots , categorized by the types of items they contain.  Pricing ranges from 21 to 863 euros , allowing a range of options for potential buyers. The most affordable items include individual laptops, while the highest-priced lots may contain 39 computers or more, for example. The inventory is primarily composed of laptops, which can be bid on individually or in batches.

All items are sourced from the  municipal lost and found office . Items are held for a term of two years; if they remain unclaimed beyond this period, they are eligible for auction. It’s a great opportunity to acquire technology at reduced prices while ensuring that unclaimed items don’t go to waste.

The auction is active  until October 23 at 12:00  PM (Spanish peninsular time). It’s important to note that  delivery is the buyer’s responsibility , and no returns will be accepted after the purchase. The funds raised from the auction are deposited in the Municipal Treasury of Madrid and contribute to the city council’s budget.
