The recent presentation event of the new iPhone also spotlighted Apple’s latest smartwatch offerings, including the ambitious  Apple Watch Ultra 3  and the  Apple Watch Series S11 . However, the true stars of the show were undeniably the new Apple Watch SE 3.

This renewed attention is warranted, as the last update for the SE line occurred three years ago. The leap in features and technology between the previous and current models of these “affordable” smartwatches has been especially impressive. The  Apple Watch SE 3  is now more comparable to its higher-end counterparts than ever before.

Long Live the Always-On Display

The introduction of the always-on display feature in the Apple Watch SE 3 is a significant step for this model, making it more competitive with high-end versions. This feature has been long-anticipated, allowing users to view their information without lifting their wrists.

Apple Watch SE 3 Display Feature

This improvement pairs with a new  Apple S10 SoC  that offers enhanced power without sacrificing battery life. Apple claims that the  battery can last up to 18 hours  under regular usage and supports a fast-charging feature, allowing for an impressive 80% charge in just 45 minutes.

The third-generation SE models also introduce exciting functionalities, such as gesture controls for a more intuitive user experience. Health monitoring features are extensive as well, including sleep monitoring, apnea detection, and scoring.

Similar to the Series 11 and Ultra 3 models, the SE 3 utilizes Ion-X glass, offering two times greater scratch resistance compared to its predecessors.
