– I am extremely surprised, says Arianrhod Engebø. On live radio in the program “Studio P3” she was today surprised by Stian “Staysman” Thorbjørnsen. Through a specially written song for the occasion, the artist was able to announce that she will be the host of Melodi Grand Prix together with him next year. – I feel joy and excitement, and of course a little fear. We will make TV for an extremely large number of people, and MGP is something many people have a strong relationship with, adds Engebø. Arian also has a close relationship with the music competition. – I have always been very happy with Melodi Grand Prix, she continued. Together with Nate Kuhunga, she leads the radio program “StudioP3”. This summer they were also presenters for VG Lista top 20. Now she will be on stage with the popular artist from Østfold – Staysman. – I think it will be good. We have only met once before. Then we had improv rehearsals, and we had a lot of fun then, says Arian. Staysman has participated as an artist in MGP twice, but he never thought that he would ever get the chance to be a presenter. – It looks like a utopia. It’s absolutely fantastic, he says and adds: – I still have a bit of “noia”, because it’s now what we’re going to do. And I’m so fond of MGP, so I feel a little awe. See the interview with Staysman and Arian below: – It’s going to be a party. Arian adds that both he and Staysman are genuinely interested in music. – The public can expect fireworks. We will love to be part of the music party. Project manager in Melodi Grand Prix, Thea Flinder, is very happy that Staysman and Arian have agreed to rent Melodi Grand Prix 2023: – The two are different profiles with different backgrounds, who have in common that they love music and MGP. – We have great faith that the two of them together will entertain the audience and the artists with infectious enthusiasm, warmth and charm when MGP starts up on 14 January, says Flinder. When asked what the public can expect from the two as a duo, Arian replies: – The public can expect fireworks. We will love to be part of the music party. – It’s going to be a party! concludes Staysman. Staysman has participated in Melodi Grand Prix twice.
