Alarming Expansion of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) into Latin America
In a recent alarming development, alleged hitmen based in Peru have claimed they are acting under the orders of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel ( CJNG ). Through a video shared on social media platforms, these sicarios announced their readiness to receive tactical equipment and armament designed for active operations.
The video further revealed their purported presence in Bolivia , asserting that their criminal activities will expand once they secure the necessary resources. “How are you, Dad Mecho from Peru ,” says the spokesperson in the video. “Here we are active, sending this video for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel from Peru. I am ‘El Chema,’ ‘The R-90’. We are present.”
Expressing urgency, the spokesperson added, “I just arrived here in Peru; we made this video to report that we are active and organizing ourselves to assemble more with the vests, weapons, and with your support, for all the troops and for Dad Mencho .”

<p class="paragraph">According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies ( IIES ), along with findings from the DEA , and intelligence from the Colombian Police Anti-Narcotics Directorate , Mexican cartels, particularly the CJNG and the Sinaloa cartel , reportedly have a presence in over 10 countries in Latin America . Their ultimate aim centers on expanding their illicit activities to Asia , Europe , and Oceania .</p>
<p class="paragraph">Research indicates these formidable cartels have established themselves in Honduras , Colombia , Ecuador , Venezuela , Brazil , Bolivia , Paraguay , Chile , Argentina , and Peru . Notably, Peru is suggested to be the operational base for these hitmen.</p>
<p class="paragraph">"With me are our colleagues, whether francs or assets, also the boss in charge of the square," one of the hitmen stated in the video. They went on to express a message of unity, emphasizing the need for greater operational strength: "I want to send a message to elevate our activity here in Peru and Bolivia. We are working and will become more active."</p>

<p class="paragraph">Reports from late 2014 indicated that the Sinaloa cartel and the CJNG had managed to infiltrate Australia, a region known for its stringent anti-drug laws. The preliminary intelligence suggested that Mexican cartels were capitalizing on the lucrative drug market due to its geographical distance from main distribution points.</p>

<p class="paragraph">Recent months have seen significant cocaine seizures in Australia attributed to Mexican cartels . Notably, on March 4 , Australian authorities confiscated 2.4 tons of cocaine near the coast of Sydney , linking it to a Mexican drug cartel, although the specific group was not disclosed. The massive operation, dubbed the Beach operation , was supported by the DEA and Australian agencies, targeting illicit shipments originating from the region.</p>
