A sweeter year has celebrated the LGTBI+ Pride Week with a great Rainbow party surrounded by her partner, Alba Paul , and friends like Susana Bicho , Sofía Suescun , Tania Llasera , Chanel , Lola Lolita , and Angy Fernández . The celebration was not only a show of support for the community but also a reflection of the joy and acceptance that defined that moment.
Dulceida, the popular figure at the center of this festive gathering, expressed how significant this celebration is for the new generations. “For me, it is very important, especially when I see how much things have changed. Rights are a question of showing my relationship as it is,” she remarked proudly. This sentiment resonates deeply with many individuals who find themselves walking a similar path in their own lives.
Despite her public persona, Dulceida has had her share of challenges. She candidly acknowledged, “I have been very lucky and have not suffered attacks due to my sexual orientation,” yet she recounted a painful incident. “When I became pregnant, they all came out of the caves. I freaked out a little; out of 16,000 comments, 7000 were people saying very strong things, which is something that I will never understand.” This juxtaposition of love and vitriol is a harsh reminder of the persistent challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community.
Reflecting on her experiences outside the public eye, she mentioned, “I feel accepted by all around me, and that is what matters most. I have never experienced harassment on the street, but I’ve had uncomfortable moments when we were kissing, and someone looked at us badly. But I say, ‘Let them be.'” This steely resolve to continue living authentically speaks volumes about her character and the progress that many continue to strive for.
Dulceida’s daughter Aria is currently 8 months old. Sharing her joy, she said, “She is an earthquake that does not stop, but gives us happiness.” The logistical and emotional challenges of motherhood have transformed her life. “Sometimes we say, WOW, it is an earthquake, it does not stop. We are all the time putting music and stimulating her, which is normal,” she added, revealing with a smile that while Aria physically resembles Alba, she also shows traits from both parents.
The hardest part of motherhood, Dulceida admits, is leaving Aria, even when she feels exhausted. “That is like what I have found most challenging. But everything else is totally worth it.” Reflecting on her partnership with Alba, she shared, “We are very happy. We look at each other and feel that we are doing well, much better than I expected, to be honest.” This shared journey of parenting illustrates the great joy and challenges of modern parenthood.
As Dulceida discusses her experiences, she took a moment to offer advice to José Luis Martínez Almeida , the Mayor of Madrid, who recently welcomed a child with Teresa Urquijo . She encouraged him to become actively involved as a father, stating, “That he is involved, because he is a man. He must be engaged, as it is 50% responsibility. Enjoy it; it is the best thing that can happen in life. It is a love that transcends just being a mother or father.” This sentiment underscores the egalitarian approach that many modern parents are striving for today.
Alba echoed Dulceida’s sentiments, offering her own advice to Almeida: “Mayor, quit it, and involve yourself, because otherwise, there will be friction between couples. One will tire out more than the other.” Their messages resonate with many working parents who struggle to balance responsibilities effectively, advocating for shared parenting in a loving environment.
