Recent Escalations in the Israel-Iran Conflict: A Night of Horror
Israel woke up on a Sunday filled with grief and devastation, following a night marked by two successive waves of missiles fired from Iran. This brutal escalation resulted in at least eight fatalities, over 150 injuries, and severe material damages across various parts of the country.
These attacks represent the deadliest assaults since the conflict reignited Thursday night, preceded by an Israeli offensive inside Iranian territory. The fifth wave of attacks, detected in the late hours of Saturday, primarily targeted the city of Tamra, located in northern Israel, near Haifa. According to reports from Israeli police, four women lost their lives: two in their 40s, one in her 20s, and a 13-year-old girl.
Media sources in Israel confirmed that all four victims belonged to the same family. The police announced that rescuers were able to extricate several individuals, who were trapped amidst varying degrees of injuries following the assault.

The sixth missile wave struck early Sunday morning, impacting the city of Bat Yam, situated south of Tel Aviv, and the Sefelá region, to the west of Jerusalem. In Bat Yam, the Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed the death of a 69-year-old woman, an 80-year-old woman, and two children around the age of 10, in addition to approximately 100 individuals injured, including four in critical condition and seven in moderate condition.
An MDA spokesperson highlighted that the authorities are still actively searching for victims among the rubble of the destroyed buildings, one of which was eight stories high.
In the Sefelá region, the MDA reported a total of 37 injuries, which included two individuals in severe condition, twelve in moderate condition, and twenty-three with minor injuries. Collectively, the casualty count from the Iranian offensives overnight stands at eight dead and over 150 injured.

Meanwhile, Israel continued its airstrikes on Iran as part of an ongoing aerial offensive initiated Thursday night. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the strikes targeted the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Defense, as well as facilities of the Organization for Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND) and other targets linked to the “Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons project.”
Iranian media outlets such as Press TV and Tasnim reported that a refinery in Shahran, near Tehran, was also damaged due to these attacks, with a fire reported on its premises.
In addition to the eight confirmed deaths from the latest attacks, three other people had died in previous assaults in Tel Aviv, bringing the total fatalities in Israel to eleven since the onset of this renewed conflict phase.
The authorities are actively assessing structural and personal damages as rescue operations continue in the aftermath of these tragic events.
