In an alarming incident, popular TV presenter Christophe Beaugrand , his husband Ghislain Beaugrand-Gerin , and their son were subjected to a harrowing home-jacking in Sèvres, Hauts-de-Seine, during the night of June 4-5. This violent event left the family shaken but determined to move forward despite the trauma it inflicted. Ghislain was attacked and hit on the head with golf clubs but managed to provide an update on his condition from the hospital.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram on June 5, Ghislain stated, “Dear family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, after a few stitches in my head and an operation on my arm, I will be able to leave the hospital this evening.” His words helped reassure followers about his health and the well-being of his family. He also confirmed, “Valentin and Christophe are doing well.”
According to police reports, the couple was asleep when they were abruptly awakened by strange noises emanating from their living room. Ghislain took brave action and went downstairs, only to confront two intruders armed with golf clubs.
“I Hid on the Roof”
In an interview with TF1 , Christophe shared a chilling account of the events that night. “It must have been around 4 A.M. when we heard noises, our dog barked, and we immediately understood that something was happening,” he recounted. Displaying remarkable composure, he added, “I went straight to the second floor to protect my son. I took him with me, opened the bathroom window, and we hid. I hid on the roof.”
While Christophe secured their young son, who is just five years old, Ghislain attempted to contact the authorities from their first-floor balcony. However, the intruders followed him and struck him multiple times with golf clubs. During the struggle, he fell from the balcony and sought refuge at a neighbor’s house, desperately calling for help.
Despite the brutality of the attack, Christophe remains dedicated to his professional commitments. He confirmed he would be present for the morning show Bonjour on TF1, and he is set to host the launch of the reality show Secret Story on June 9. The resilience displayed by this family amidst crisis demonstrates the spirit of perseverance.
With escalating incidents of break-ins and home-jacking, this distressing case has sparked discussions about home security and personal safety. An investigation has been initiated and is being handled by the territorial security brigade of the Hauts-de-Seine public security department. This isn’t the first time Beaugrand has encountered criminal activity, as he was also a victim of a similar but less violent event back in 2016.
