Launched in  2021 , the second generation of the DS 4 recently underwent a significant mid-life facelift. Moreover, it has been rebranded as the “N°4,” aligning with  Stellantis ’s new strategy to enhance the  premium identity  of its  DS  lineup. Following the introduction of the N°8 a few months ago, the N°4 aims to establish a new standard in the  compact premium segment .

The refreshed DS N°4 boasts not only an updated exterior design but also a refined interior and introduces an innovative  electric powertrain . This model is available alongside mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, showcasing  groundbreaking technology  while maintaining the brand’s luxurious heritage.

Competitive Pricing in the Premium Compact Segment

€39,000 is the starting price for the DS N°4 in its mild hybrid variant, featuring a  145-horsepower  engine (formerly rated at 136 horsepower by a different measurement standard) in the  Pallas  trim. This competitive price positions the DS N°4 favorably when compared to other compact premium offerings.

The  DS N°4 E-Tense , the fully electric variant, starts at  €46,990  with the same Pallas trim, equipped with a  213-horsepower  motor and a 58.3 kWh battery, delivering a maximum  WLTP range  of 450 kilometers. The price can escalate up to  €51,290  if you opt for the higher-end  Etoile Alcantara  trim with the same electric powertrain.

In comparison, the  BMW 1 Series  starts at  €36,050  for its base version with a  122-horsepower  gasoline engine. The  Mercedes A-Class  demands at least  €39,450  with a  136-horsepower  engine, while the  Audi A3  begins at  €34,600 , featuring a manual gasoline engine rated at  116 horsepower . Notably, the French offering, the DS N°4, provides a better price-to-equipment ratio compared to its German rivals. Aside from its automatic transmission, the DS N°4 comes equipped with a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, and  acoustic laminated front windows  as standard features.

As of now, the pricing details for the Plug-In hybrid version of the DS N°4 have not yet been released, leaving potential buyers eager for further announcements.

The  DS N°4  marks a significant step forward for the brand, combining luxury with advanced technology and competitive pricing. The rebranding as “N°4” emphasizes its upscale positioning in the automotive market, while the focus on electric and hybrid powertrains aligns with global trends towards sustainability. As buyers increasingly prioritize  eco-friendly options , the DS N°4 stands out not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its practical advancements. With its unique offering in a crowded market, the DS N°4 is poised to attract a discerning clientele looking for a blend of luxury, performance, and eco-consciousness.
