“Türkiye ve bölgede yaşanan gelişmelere ilişkin kapsamlı bir fikir alışverişinde bulunulan görüşme, son derece yapıcı bir atmosferde gerçekleşti. Görüşmede ayrıca, Barış ve Demokratik Toplum Çağrısından sonra yaşanan gelişmeler, Türkiye’nin demokratikleşme süreci, DEM Parti İmralı Heyetinin Sayın Abdullah Öcalan ile gerçekleştirdiği görüşme ve PKK’nin 12 Mayıs’ta açıkladığı kongre kararları ele alındı. Sürecin ilerlemesi için atılması gereken adımlar, Meclis’in üstleneceği rol, yeni yargı paketi, Meclis’te kurulması beklenen komisyon ve anayasa gibi konular ele alındı. Bahçeli’nin de çağrısını yaptığı TBMM bünyesinde tam yetkili bir komisyonun oluşturulmasının ve siyasi partilerin bu sürece aktif şekilde dahil olmasını sağlayacak bir yöntem benimsenmesinin kritik öneme sahip olduğu vurgulandı.”
