12 September 2022 at 19:54 New goal celebration by Brann – 1st division title secured Last weekend, Grorud secured a mathematically certain promotion for Brann. Tonight Brann thanked for the help in defeating Grorud 7-0 in Bergen. 13,000 had turned up to pay tribute to Brann in the first home game after promotion to the elite series was secured. Only six games in the elite series have attracted more players this season. Fire raged wildly with the bottom team before the break, and led 6-0 after the first half. Frederik Børsting (2), Niklas Castro, Fredrik Pallesen Knudsen and Mathias Rasmussen (2) scored the six goals within half an hour. Brann dominated the second half as well, but Grorud’s goalkeeper Simen Lillevik played big and prevented a double-digit result. He had to surrender Berre Bård Finne’s penalty after the break. With that, Brann also secured the series title in the 1st division. Stabæk took over second place after 2-0 over Raufoss, while YMCA lost 1-3 to Kongsvinger. Both Stabæk and YMCA are 22 points behind Brann with six games to go. With six rounds to go, Brann is only seven goals behind Bodø/Glimt’s scoring record from 2017 of 83 goals. With 66 points, it is 13 points up on Aalesund’s points record from 2019.
