The Nomination Committee in LO agrees that Kine Asper Vistnes (48) from the Fellesforbundet should be elected as new leader of LO. The deputy leader of the Fellesforbundet has been a favorite in recent days after the leader Jørn Eggum resigned as a candidate for LO chief last week. Earlier this week there was between Vistnes and Federal Leader for Strength, Frode Alfheim, before the latter on Tuesday drew his candidacy to the top position in LO. Vistnes has been an industrial worker and union representative at the Nexans cable factory at Langhus before becoming head of Division 1 in the Fellesforbundet. In 2013, she entered the Fellesforbundet’s leadership and was elected deputy leader in 2022. The Fellesforbundet is LO’s second largest union and the largest association that is included in the wage negotiations for the front subjects each year. (NTB)
