27 August 2022 at 10:53 Actor Espen Skjønberg is dead Actor Espen Skjønberg is dead, aged 98. The family confirms this to NTB. He fell asleep peacefully on Friday night. Skjønberg has played over 70 roles at the National Theatre, and played on most stages in Norway. He was known as one of the leading Shakespeare interpreters in Norway. Schønberg started his career at Chat Noir and Stavanger Teater in 1945. Espen Skjønberg also guested on British and American stages with Ibsen and Shakespeare roles.
