18 August 2022 at 16:20 Paddling: Virik ready for the EC final in the 1000 meters Maria Virik paddled to a time of 4.02.816 and secured her place in the final of the single 1000 meters during the EC in Munich. Virik finished 0.923 behind Hungarian Noemi Pupp, who won the heat. The three fastest in the heat qualified directly for the final. 4th to 6th place went to the semi-finals. Jon Amund Vold was also in action in the water in Munich and is ready for the semi-finals in both the 500 and 1000 meter singles. He finished in 6th place in the 500 metres, 4.296 seconds behind Serbian Bojan Zdelar, who was fastest in heat two. In the 1000 meters he finished in 5th place, 5.224 seconds behind Portuguese Fernando Pimenta, who won the second heat. Hedda Øritsland also progressed to the semi-finals in the single 500 metres.
