Mines that lie down, results that do not straighten up, quite the contrary. On the occasion of the presentation of its annual results, Wednesday, March 12, the Union of French Airports (UAF) sounded the alarm on the degraded situation of French platforms. “Airports are in danger!” »»said Thomas June, president of the UAF.

Despite a flood of 205.75 million passengers in 2024, or 7 million more than in 2023 (+ 3.6 %), the platforms have still not found their traffic in 2019. It is still withdrawn from 4 % compared to the last year before the Pandemic of Cavid-19. “A large number of airports have still not recovered from the crisis”regrets M. June. The number of movements, that is to say takeoff, is down 10.3 % compared to 2019 even, if it increased very slightly by 0.6 % compared to 2023.

Figures which, for the UAF, illustrate the downgrading of the destination France compared to its competitors. Indeed, while the latter is struggling to regain its levels before pandemic, traffic in the European Union is now 1.8 % higher than that of 2019. Unsurprisingly, it is the countries of southern Europe which are best pulled the game like Turkey and Greece where it increases 23.1 % and 22.1 % respectively. Conversely, further north, Finland and Allemangne are behind 24.9 % for one and 22.1 % for the other.
